Help Change the Landscape of Inclusive Living
Smokey Hollow Community is designed as a safe, permanent and engaging inclusive community for individuals with I/DD.
To be located in Onondaga County, SHC is based on home ownership to allow individuals the financial security of knowing they have a permanent residence and to eliminate the worry that a landlord could increase their rent to a point of financial insecurity. As a low-income cooperative, SHC will have a board of directors to include residents or their family members. This allows the residents a voice in matters that are important to them.
Estimated to cost $6.9 million, SHC is pursuing home ownership development funding. Our capital campaign of $3.5 million allows a path to affordable homeownership.
